After the disappointment of Tuesday’s postponement of Tuesday’s visit to Ashbury Ivanhoe, Darlaston are hopeful of a return to action tomorrow when they travel the short distance across the Black Country to The Beeches, home of Tividale and Khalsa Footballing Federation.
Everyone will remember Smethwick Rangers who took part in The West Midlands Regional League for many years, after the sideways move into The Midlands Football League the club was renamed this season to Khalsa Football Federation.
So far this season Khalsa have been in the bottom half of the division and are currently 18th, playing 22 games winning 3, losing 17, and drawing 2 with a goal difference of -43.
The clubs met at The Paycare Stadium back in a record-breaking game in August, which Darlaston won convincingly winning 7-0, all seven goals scored by Andy Nichol who broke the club's goal-scoring record jointly held for 89 years by former Burnley & Halifax Town striker Bill Chambers and Eddie Glover who sadly passed away a week before the game. Nichol, who has been absent in recent weeks is hopeful of a return to action tomorrow and will obviously be looking to add to his goal tally of 30 league goals so far this season, a total that leads the Division’s scoring charts.
Khalsa Football Federation meanwhile have not played a fixture for 2 weeks and also suffered a midweek postponement after their game on Tuesday evening against Heath Hayes due to a Covid outbreak within the Heath Hayes camp, Khalsa have only played three games since the beginning of December losing two and securing a draw in their last game which lifted them from bottom place in the table where they have been for most of the season.
The first Saturday in December saw Khalsa lose 4-1 at Pride Park the home of Wolverhampton Sporting, Adam Nazier scoring Smethwick’s goal. Two weeks later a visit to promotion-chasing Dudley Town just before Christmas on 18th December produced a second loss 2-1, Dilpreet Sandhu scored Khalsa’s only goal. It was another two weeks before Khalsa welcomed Chelmsley Town to the Beeches which resulted in a 1-1 draw, Adam Nazier once again on the score sheet for the home side.
Khalsa Football Federation have this week lost forward Zac Brown to Midland Football League rivals Wednesfield. Khalsa Football Federations danger man is striker Adam Nazier his 10 goals in 19 games makes him the club's top scorer followed by Samuel Kayode who 4 goals in 14 games.
Darlaston’s squad meanwhile, following the postponement of the Ashbury fixture trained well on Wednesday evening. The week’s break would have given more time for the players to recover after some reported picking up knocks after last Saturday’s return the league action produced a 2-1 win against Shawbury United. We understand that everyone is available for tomorrow’s game creating a selection headache for manager Dean Gill.
The game which is being played at:

Packwood Road,
Tividale

Kick-off – 3.00 p.m.
We look forward to seeing as many Darlaston supporters as possible for the fixture.
