Tomorrow evening Darlaston Town have the pleasure of welcoming Bury Football Club to the Paycare Stadium for Northern Premier League West Division fixture.

Bury FC have a long proud history such as our own but defiantly considerably more successful than Darlaston Town having played in the Football League for over 100 years for many many years, winning the FA Cup on a few occasions as well as being promoted as Runners Up and Champions throughout their long history which started in 1885 after a merger between two church teams, Bury Wesleyans and Bury Unitarians.

The club was expelled from the football league in August 2019 after financial mismanagement just after they had secured promotion from Division Two after finishing runners up on goal difference at the end of the 2018/19 season . The club was reformed by two different groups of people out of the original club came two fan ledge teams Bury FC and Bury AFC.

Bury AFC Joined the North West Counties League in the 2020/21 season which was of course abandon through COVID and the following season Bury AFC won the North West Counties League Division One North promoted as champions into the NWC Premier Division at the start of the 2022/23 season. At the end of the season the two phoenix organisations joined forces to reform Bury FC as it is today.

The Shakers secured promotion into the NPL West Division this season by winning the North West Counties Primer Division last season winning 33 of their 46 games scoring 131 goals in a season in the league and securing 109 points.

This season Bury currently sit in fourth place in the league winning nine of their 17 games drawing and losing four games. Last weekend Bury lost to league leaders Lower Breck at Gigg Lane, their first home loss of the season in the league.

In their last six games including Saturday The Shakers have won, drawn and lost two games. Wins were at home against Kidsgrove Athletic (2-0) and at Nantwich Town (4-0). Both draws were away at Bootle (0-0) and Vauxhall Motors (3-3), the losses were against Lower Breck at home and Mossley (2-1).
