Match Preview

Simon Cox29 Jan - 12:39

Tomorrow evening once again Darlaston Town and Anstey Nomads will try to play their Northern Premier League Midlands Division fixture at the Paycare Stadium. The fixture is already been postponed several times firstly due to Anstey’s successful Cup exploits in the FA Cup and FA Trophy earlier in the season and several postponements have followed due to the weather.

The clubs are both just outside the play-off places in 6th and 7th position and both have several games in hand over clubs above them. For sometime the clubs have been equal not only on points, but wins, losses draws and goal difference as well, Anstey were higher placed due to goals scored.

Going into tomorrow night’s game Anstey will be fully rested after having a week off from playing because of Walsall Wood’s resignation form the league. Their current form is impressive with four wins in their last six games. Two wins were at home against Racing Club Warwick and Coleshill Town, they also secured wins at Shepshed Dynamo and Hinkley LR. The two losses were against the league leaders Quorn, and hard charging Wellingborough Town, who have risen the table swiftly putting several wins together in a short space of time.

The pedigree of Anstey Nomads is unquestionable, always successful in cup competitions and last season after finishing runners up in the league they lost to Harborough Town in the play off final at home 2-0 to miss out on promotion. They are sure to be doing their upmost to write that wrong.

Tomorrow’s opponents have a very good forward line, Jacob Fenton scoring 13 so far this season closely followed by ex-Alvechurch forward Leo Brown and Zayn Hakeem who were both on 11each and James Tague who was scored 9 times this season.

Both clubs were going into tomorrow nights fixture wanting the win to continue their push for finishing in the playoff places come the end of the season.

Darlaston having been held by Shepshed Dynamo on Saturday to a draw will be looking for better form in tomorrow evening’s fixture and they will certainly want to gain some momentum for what is an extremely busy February when they are scheduled to play seven league fixtures weather permitting.

Gates will open as normal at 6.15 pm along with the bar that will ne selling is usual pre match hot food.

Admission Adults £9 Concession £7 Under 14s free.
Programme £2.
Cash and card payments accepted at the gate.

Tomorrow evening is expected to be one of those nights under special nights under the lights to Parker stadium and the club and squad are very helpful that the Darlaston supporters will turn out in significant numbers to support their team.
