Darlaston Town face two key fixtures in the next four days, when on Tuesday evening they travel to Worcester City for a re-arranged league fixture, but tomorrow Darlaston welcome Wellingborough Town to the Paycare Stadium for the first time.
The clubs met in early November at Wellingborough Town in an enthralling fixture, Darlaston raced into a two goal lead with goals from Tyler Bruck and Harry Chesterton, but the home side equalised in the 89th minute after putting Darlaston’s back line under immense pressure for the whole of the second half.
Since the fixture Wellingborough have risen in the table and just below Darlaston of their 30 games they have won thirteen games, lost ten and drawn seven with 46 points whereas Darlaston, one place above them and have two games in hand, have won the same amount of games but have lost fewer and are one point above tomorrows rivals on 47 points.
The Doughboys last six league fixtures have produced two wins, two draws and two losses. Wellingborough’s two wins were against Rugby Town 3-0 and an impressive 3-2 win at pronation chasing Worcester City, Will Jones scoring five minutes into injury time after Worcester had levelled through Charlie Wise in the 88th minute. A 0-0 draw against Lye Town and then a 2-2 incident packed draw against Coventry Sphinx at The Doughboys Dog & Duck ground, going into extra time the scores were level at 1-1, Coventry Sphinx were awarded a penalty two minutes into injury time and scored, once again club top scorer Will Jones came to the rescue scoring a 95th minute penalty to give Wellingborough a share of the points. Their two losses were at home against Coleshill Town and last Saturday at Racing Club Warwick both fixtures being lost 2-0.
Top scorer currently for Wellingborough is Will Jones with twelve, Danny Draper is on seven and three players on four goals, Jessie Obeng, Jack O’Connor and Jordan Graham.
Given how late Wellingborough seem to score in most games, it is clear that they are a fit young side and Darlaston will have to be at their best tomorrow to get anything out of the game.
Darlaston meanwhile, after a great win last Saturday at Sutton Coldfield Town, suffered the disappointment of the postponement yet again of an away fixture at Anstey Nomads and a date is to be agreed with them for the date of the new fixture. The club have trained this week with seven days rest giving the players an opportunity to recover from knocks and strains suffered over recent weeks, and hopefully manager Dean Gill will be able to select from a virtually fit squad for tomorrow’s hugely important fixture.
Admission is Adults £9.00, Concessions £7.00 and Under 14’s FREE
Darlaston’s offer of 50% reduction on entrance to local Premier League and EFL season ticket holders applies.

We hope to see as many Darlaston supporters as possible for what is considered to be a key game in their season, and we hope that supporters will continue to bring new faces to the Paycare Stadium and introducing people not only to the club but the non-league game.
