Tomorrow evening, Darlaston Town will bring a close to their league season when they travel to Leek Town to play Stone Old Alleynians in a rearranged fixture.

The clubs have tried to play at Stones Kings Park home twice this season both fixtures have fallen found to waterlogged pitch and we are extremely grateful for the efforts and the league together with Whitchurch or port who they were due to play tomorrow evening I’ve made to play the fixture as soon as possible.

Stone have including tomorrow evenings three games remaining this all scheduled to be played at home and they have yet to play AFC Wulfrunians and Whitchurch Aiport who have stepped aside to allow Darlaston to play at Leek Town tomorrow evening because Darlaston are in the play-off places. We are extremely thankful for both Whitchurch and the efforts both last week and tomorrow evening Stone Old Alleynians have made to play the fixture.

Presently Stone are in 15th place in the table and are defiantly this season’s draw specialists having drawn 12 games this season, six games have been won and 13 lost, one of which was at the Paycare Stadium in October, Darlaston won 2-1 thanks to first half goals from Aaron Bishop and Rivel Mardenborough. Stone had their revenge a few weeks later knocking Darlaston out of the JW Hunt Cup on penalties after a 2-2 draw in normal time
Stone Old Alleynians last five league games have produced a 3-1 win over relegated Bewdley Town, two 0-0 draws at Uttoxeter Town and Tividale, followed by two losses 3-1 against Dudley Town the match being played at Leek Town, and last Saturday evening in a close run affair against Stourport Swifts played at Stafford Town on Saturday evening. Stourport went in at half time 2-0 up, Jack Bowater pulled a goal back to make 2-1. Stourport added a third, but two goals from Bowater and Batho levelled the scores at 3-3 with just 5 minutes to go. But in the 90th minute Stourport scored the winner to take the 3 points in a huge game for them in their bid to qualify for the play-offs.
Over the past two season games between Stone Old Alleynians and Darlaston have always been close cagy affairs tomorrow night will be no different even though the game is being played away from their normal home ground.

Darlaston after qualifying for the play-offs on Satuirday with a 2-0 win over a very good Whitchurch Alport side will have rested up since the game especially having played six games in 14 days, but they will be defiantly James Rowland who suffered a serious injury in that game and will more than likely pay no further part this season which is a big blow not only to him but to the team.

We hope to see as many Darlaston sports as possible make the long journey up the M6 to Leek to support Darlaston Town in their final final league final game of the league campaign.

A point from the game will give Darlaston Town their highest ever finish in 150 years and also secure a home semi final play-off, the opponents of which is still uncertain because Stourport Swifts and Highgate United still have outstanding game to be played
