Darlaston Town tomorrow afternoon travel to Castle Vale Stadium the home of Romulus for yet another important Midland Football League fixture.
The clubs met only some 10 days ago at the Paycare Stadium, Darlaston winning 4-2 after going into the interval at half-time level at 1-1. Romulus opened the scoring with a fantastic goal from Jordan Francis, equalised by a Ben Podmore finish. The second half saw Darlaston score three goals, James Roland, Revel Mardenborough and Keiran Miller with substitute Finley Douglas scoring for Romulus.
Since that fixture Darlaston drew 0-0 with third place Studley, whereas Romulus were beaten at home by Dudley Town 1-0.
Tomorrow’s fixture is expected to be a really tough game as all Midland Football League fixtures are and a good crowd is expected to support both clubs.
Darlaston played at Sporting Khalsa in midweek which proved to be a very useful game for many reason and they will go into the game prepared and knowing clearly what is expected. Although the squad as always are carrying injuries and knocks and as has happened for the last few weeks several players are likely to face late fitness tests before selection takes place.
We hope many Darlaston supporters will be able to travel to Castle Vale to support Darlaston. The address of Romulus’ ground is
