Darlaston tomorrow evening return to action after a break of 17 days without any football when I they will travel across the Black Country to Tividale for a Midland Football League, League Cup Second Round Tie.

This will be the third game between the two clubs this season, and also the second cup game after Tividale visited the Paycare Stadium for an Emirates FA Cup tie on opening day of the season, which they won convincingly 4-0. The clubs met in the League at the Beeches home of Tividale in mid-October the game finished 0-0.

Tividale have had success recently in cup competitions beating Wolverhampton Sporting in the JW Hunt Cup as well as promotion chasing Lichfield City on their astro turf surface in the Walsall Senior Cup. In the Birmingham Senior Cup a 6-1 trouncing of United Counties League Premier Division South side Coventry United a couple of weeks ago.

In the League, Tividale are 14th wining and losing 7 games, recent results include a 2-0 loss at second placed Shifnal Town, a 0-3 reverse against Stone Old Alleynians, and their last game 9 days ago inflicted a 4-0 defeat on visiting Atherstone Town.

Both clubs, had a blank Saturday due to opponents playing in the Isuzu FA Vase. Both squads will go into tomorrow night’s game knowing the importance of a win, and they will be both somewhat fresh, and injury free, so both teams are expected to be at full strength.

Darlaston, meanwhile have had a long break since the Uttoxeter win the Paycare Stadium on the 19th November, the break came at the wrong time after 3 really good performances at Alvechurch (2-2), Romulus (1-1) and Uttoxeter Town (2-0) they were starting to build a run. But in saying that the enforced break would’ve given players time to rest and get rid of the niggles and knock several players were suffering. The management team will not have let up on training regime and they will be desperate to play tomorrow evening
