After the disappointment of Saturday’s postponement, the games keep coming thick and fast for Darlaston’s squad.

Darlaston Town are now entering an important part of their season as they face two big cup games in the next 10 days either side of a visit to Dudley Sports this coming Saturday in the League.

Firstly, tomorrow night they travel to Midland Football League Premier Division promotion-chasing Boldmere St. Michaels for a JW Hunt Cup third-round tie. Next Wednesday Darlaston welcomes OJM Black Country to The Paycare Stadium for a Birmingham County FA Midweek Challenge Floodlit Cup semi-final the winners will face either Dudley Town or Wednesfield who play tomorrow evening.

Manager Dean Gill will take his squad to Step 5 Boldmere St. Michaels Football and Athletic Club in Sutton Coldfield for what is arguably Darlaston’s toughest test of the season so far. Neil Kitching’s side is having a really good season and are handily placed in 4th position with four games in hand on the sides above them, which if they win would see them well clear in second place behind runaway league leaders Hanley.

Boldmere didn’t play on Saturday as their game at AFC Wulfrunians fell foul of the weather like most other games and are in the middle of a great run have and have lost only one game in the last eleven which was against league leaders Hanley at home.

In the JW Hunt Cup so far this season they have beaten all of their opposition by large margins and haven’t conceded a goal as of yet.

In the first round, they secured an 8-0 win against MFL Division Three side Continental Star followed by a 10-0 win against West Midlands Regional League Division One side Wrens Nest.

Darlaston Town have progressed through the competition with wins against Midland Football League Premier Division side AFC Wulfrunians in the first round and promotion-chasing Dudley Town in the second round, both ties were at the Paycare Stadium, ended 1-1 after 90 mins and Darlaston progressed through both ties on penalties.

Despite not playing on Saturday Darlaston’s management team put the squad through a grueling training session in preparation for tomorrow night’s fixture and the lads will no doubt will be looking forward to playing against one of the Midlands most respected and strongest sides in the Midland Football League.

So why not come and support the club who will be looking to reach their second semi-final of the season
