This Saturday Darlaston Town welcome Pitching In Northern Premier League Midlands Division side Chasetown to The Paycare Ground once again, their second visit inside 3 months.
The sides last met in early May, Darlaston taking the early lead but Chasetown scoring three times before the half-time interval, taking complete control of the game despite matching their opponents in all departments.
Mark Swann has continued to build Chasetown’s squad for the start of the season signing ex-Alvechurch player Mitch Botfield who scored two goals when the sides last met and set up another and his team-mate from Alvechurch Andy Parsons.
Manage Mark Swann has been busy enticing goalkeeper Adam Jenkins back to the club who left Lichfield City despite them being promoted into The Midlands Football League Premier Division.
Swann has also managed to keep the major bulk of his squad from a very much curtailed last season, with skipper Danny O’Callaghan, Ryan Wynter alongside forward Jack Langston who has scored 75 goals in 156 appearances alongside fellow forward Liam Kirton and fan’s favourite Ollie Hayward, amongst the dozen or so players that have remained at the club.
Darlaston are sure that Chasetown will bring a virtually full-strength squad as this is their penultimate pre-season friendly before their league season starts.
Everyone is welcome at The Paycare Ground.
Admission – Adults £5.00, Concessions £3.00 and Children Under 10 Free
Gates and Bar open at 1.30 p.m. and will be selling the usual liquid refreshments alongside the world’s best cobs and other food choices.
So please come and see Chasetown, one the top Midlands sides at the Paycare Ground. Darlaston’s will be looking for a win as they look towards next Saturday when the Midland Football League season starts when Chelmsley Town will be travelling to The Paycare Ground to meet Darlaston for the first time.
