The Midland Football League and Lichfield City have released details of Saturday’s big game

This Saturday Darlaston Town will bring an end their successful season when they travel to Lichfield City to play for the right to be promoted into Step 4 of the NLS next season.

The match is being played at the Trade Tyre Community Stadium by virtue of Lichfield’s second place finish and Saturday’s game will be the most important game in both clubs history. The match will kick off at 3 pm.

Admission the game will be Adults £7 Concessions £4. We understand there will be a programme on sale.

It is almost certain there will be no car parking available at the ground and therefore all supporters are urged to find an alternative safe place to park in adjacent roads and car parks close to the ground, but we would ask everyone to take into consideration the local residents and their access. In saying that parking on is likely to be at an extreme premium because a large crowd is expected for the Midland Football League Premier division playoff final.

Lichfield qualified for the play-offs after finishing runners up in the league and beating Highgate United 3-1 last Saturday in the play-off semi-final and they will be wanting to finish the season with a win not only to get promoted but to maintain their impressive unbeaten league record.

Darlaston meanwhile qualified for the play offs after a storming finish to the season lifting them to a third placed finish after winning their last games and just conceding a single goal, which was in third place after winning the last seven league games and not conceding a goal. Last Saturday Darlaston beat Stourport Swifts in their play off semi final at the Paycare Stadium, Alexander Foreshaw netting twice after Kieran Cook had opened the scoring with a penalty to secure the win.

A big crowd is expected and the club are extremely hopeful that all Darlaston Town supporters will make the journey to Litchfield to support Dean Gill and the squad.
