
Tomorrow Darlaston Town start the New Year at the Paycare Stadium kick off 3 pm by welcoming Boldmere St. Michaels for a Northern Premier League Midland Division fixture.
Tomorrow is the first of eight scheduled fixtures in January , seven being league games five of which are at the Paycare Stadium. We also welcome NPL West Division side Hednesford Town for a Walsall Senior Cup Quarter-Final in the middle of January.
Boldmere Saint Michaels after a difficult November find themselves in mid table after 22 games of which they have won 8 drawn 6 and lost 8. The teams played on August Bank Holiday Monday at the impressive Boldmere Community Stadium the game ended in a 1-1 draw Aaron Bishop scored for Darlaston with a brilliant chip over the home keeper, Liam Murphy equalised for Boldmere with an equally impressive finish.
Boldmere will be looking to recover tomorrow after a 4-1 defeat against local rivals Sutton Coldfield Town at the Boldmere Community Stadium. Recent form has seen then slip down the form table after a difficult November in their last six fixtures they have won two and lost four, starting with a 1-0 loss at then third placed Worcester City in mid-November followed by two further losses at the hands of Hinkley LR and Coleshill Town to end November.
December however has been different starting with a 4-0 win over Rugby Town and an impressive 1-0 win at in form Racing Club Warwick, before the previously mentioned Boxing Day loss to Sutton Coldfield Town.
Liam Murphy heads the goal scoring charts for Boldmere with eight goals followed by Jake Collins on five two players are on four Oliver West and recent signing Kevin Ngombi who scored a hat-trick on his debut against Rugby Town
Darlaston after suffering a 2-1 loss at Sporting Khalsa on Boxing Day have trained twice since the fixture, Harry Chesterton will be out for some weeks after suffering a fractured jaw in the first half at Khalsa, but once again Darlaston’s injury list increased after the loss and subject to several late fitness tests manager Dean Gill could face a selection headache for tomorrow’s fixture.
In view of the poor weather forecast overnight and tomorrow morning a precautionary pitch inspection has being arranged for 10:30 am tomorrow morning t so please check on the club’s website and social media feeds before travelling, we hope the weather is not as bad as forecast and if that is the case no inspection will be required.
We hope to see as many Darlaston supporters as possible at the Paycare Stadium tomorrow afternoon, despite the possible headaches from the New Year celebrations please bring family relatives friends neighbours work colleagues to swell the club’s support.
