The funeral of former player John Dowen will be on Monday 25 June 2pm at St Lawrence's Church Darlaston followed at Bushbury Crematorium 3pm.

John was an excellent defender who played alongside former professionals and Football League players Bill Guttridge and Granville Palin ( both Walsall), John Sharples (Aston Villa), Geoff Carter (Bury and Bradford City) and Gordon Wills ( Notts County, Leicester City and Walsall) for three seasons between 1966/67 and 1968/69.

He was part of the successful 1966/67 squad which recorded the club's highest ever finish in the West Midlands League Premier Division finishing 3rd behind Boston United and Kidderminster Harriers.

The club will be represented at the funeral by Chairman Neil Chambers but all players and fans old and new will be most welcome to pay their respects.
