Darlaston Town are on another quick turnaround tomorrow evening when they travel to Worcester City for a rearranged league fixture. both clubs drew on Saturday along with most clubs in and around them, therefore tomorrow evening‘s game is an importance fixture for both third placed Worcester City and seventh placed Darlaston Town who will both be looking to come away from tomorrow nights game with a win.
Worcester’s form of late has not been as they would have liked winning two of their last six games both at home beating third placed and hard charging Long Eaton Town 1-0 thanks to an Adam Mason goal in the second half and a big 6-1 win over Darlaston‘s near neighbours Sporting Khalsa Taylor Townsend and Kyle Belmonte scoring a brace each
City have been beaten three times in six game , two of them were away from home by the same 1-0 scoreline at both Sutton Coldfield Town and Shepshed Dynamo, the third loss was at home and a real sickener, a 3-2 reverse against Wellingborough Town who claimed all 3 points thanks to a Will Jones winner 5 minutes into injury time.
Worcester’s only draw came last Saturday at Coleshill Town, City raced into a 3-1 lead in the first half but two second half Coleshill goals the second in the 88 minute ensured both sides went home with a point each.
Top scorer for Worcester City this season is the impressive Kyle Belmonte who is well known to Darlaston supporters of his due to his success at Worcester Raiders, he has scored 12 goals by ex- Studley forward Zac Guinan who is on seven with Liam Lockett. Next on the list with six each are Elliott Hartley and Felix Miles.
When the clubs met earlier this season at the Paycare Stadium back in the first week of October Darlaston won 2-0 thanks to goals from Lewis Gill and Aaron Bishop both in the first 25 minutes of the game.
As we say every week there is certainly no easy fixtures and tomorrow night will certainly be not one. Worcester will be looking to recover their early season dominant form from earlier in the and will certainly be looking for all three points tomorrow evening to get their promotion push back on track, whereas Darlaston‘s management team will face yet another David versus Goliath game when they will start as underdogs.
Darlaston‘s injury and suspension situation is pretty much the same as Saturday and the only effect on tomorrow evening squad will be availability manager Dean Gill will be looking to will have assessed his players this evening at training.
