Gresley manager Andy Gray has strengthened the squad that finished 10th in the United Counties Premier Division North last season. New signings include former Heather St John midfielder Jack Robinson, former Ashby Ivanhoe defender Jake Konkay and hot shot goalscorer Sam Grouse also from Ashby Ivanhoe, who has won the top scorer Golden Boot award in both the Midland Football League and the United Counties Premier Division North.

The two teams last met competitively in the 1990/91 season when Gresley were crowned champions in the West Midlands Regional League Premier Division, Darlaston finishing 4th.

Darlaston boss Adam "Savo" Pearce continues to look at new players to add to his new look squad, and is expecting a tough game.
