Darlaston Town make the trip to Staffordshire on Tuesday evening as they take on Kidsgrove Athletic under the lights at Hollinwood Road in the Northern Premier League Division One West.
With the season moving into its closing stages, The Citizens will be hoping to pick up a valuable result on the road as every point becomes increasingly important.
Kidsgrove Athletic were founded in 1952 and have established themselves as a long-standing club within the non-league pyramid. The Grove enjoyed a successful spell in the Mid-Cheshire League during the 1970s and 1980s, winning four league titles before later progressing into the Northern Premier League structure.
The Staffordshire side have also enjoyed success in cup competitions over the years and remain a competitive presence at Step 4. They play their home matches at Hollinwood Road. Kidsgrove Athletic come into Tuesday’s fixture following defeat on Saturday afternoon, as they were beaten 4–1 away at Trafford in the Northern Premier League Division One West. The Grove will be hoping to respond quickly when they return to home soil.
Darlaston Town were also on the road at the weekend, travelling to Atherton Collieries for their latest league fixture losing 2-0. The Citizens will now turn their focus to Tuesday night’s clash as they look to secure an important result away from home.
With both sides coming into the game off the back of their weekend fixtures, Tuesday night’s meeting could prove to be a competitive encounter under the lights.
