The Midland League have announced the first two fixtures of the 2026/27. In Darlaston's opening games they renew old rivalries against tough opposition.
The opening League game of the season on Saturday 1 August sees them at The Paycare Stadium against Staffordshire based Stone Old Alleynians KO 3.00pm. Stone O.A are long established members of the Midland League Premier Division and always strong opposition, finishing 12th last season.
The two sides last met in the 2023/24 season on 16 April 2024 when Darlaston ran out 3-0 winners in an away fixture played at the home of Leek Town. Second half goals from Harry Chesterton, Jack Downing and Lewis Gill saw us complete a league double. The home game on 14 October 2023 saw us win 2-1 Aaron Bishop and Rivel Mardenborough the scorers.
Our second game of the season is just a few days later on Tuesday 4 August when we make the short trip up the Black Country Route to our friends at Tividale FC KO 7.45.
Once again Tividale are long established members of the MFL and will be tough opposition. The two sides last met at Packwood Road in an MFL fixture on 6 January 2024, James Rowland and Kieron Miller both scoring in a 2-0 win for Darlaston. In the home fixture on 4 October 2023 Darlaston ran out 6-1 winners with an Aaron Bishop hat trick and further goals from Alexander Foreshaw, Kieron Miller and Jake Pearson.
Before the full season fixtures can be published the league need to await publication of the fixtures for the Northern Premier League, Southern League and Isthmian League and then arrange fixtures around clubs ground sharing. The league hope that the full season's fixtures will be published on or around 27 July.
