It's finally here TOMORROW Darlaston travel to Chasetown to play Coleshill Town for the Walsall Senior Cup Final

What an opportunity to finish the clubs most successful season, the clubs highest ever league finish and the chance to win some silverware

Tomorrow will see the end of Darlaston Town’s 2024/25 season and what an outstanding season it has been so far, but there is another chapter to be written tomorrow evening at Chasetown when Darlaston Town play Coleshill Town in the Walsall Senior Cup Final kick off 7.45 pm. This will be Darlaston ‘s first final appearance in the competition for more than 50 years.

The Walsall Senior Cup is one of the oldest cup competitions in the county starting in 1874 when Walsall Swifts won the competition the first of four consecutive wins. Walsall Swifts later became Walsall FC.

In this season’s competition both clubs started in the first round, Darlaston beat Romulus 2-1 at the Paycare Stadium. Coleshill had a difficult draw at Pack Meadow against EFL side Walsall, Coleshill won 2-0.

In the quarter-final, both clubs were drawn at home once again Coleshill faced last season Walsall Senior Cup winners and step two side Russell Olympic at Pack Meadow. The game ended 0-0, The Colemen secured a semi-final place winning the tie 4-2 from the penalty spot.

Darlaston withdrawn at home to fellow step four side Hednesford Town who were promoted via the playoffs into steps three at the end of the season. An exciting game saw the scores level at 2-2 after normal time> The tie was decided from the penalty spot The Citizens winning 4-2 thanks to some outstanding Stan Amos saves.

The semi-final draw produced a trip to Stourbridge for Coleshill, whereas Darlaston received a third home draw, and they welcomed their great friends from Chasetown.

Colehill’s visit to Stourbridge was played first, the game ended 0-0, The Coleman progressed to the final by virtue of a 4-2 penalty shootout win to secure tomorrow night’s final place.

Darlaston welcomed Chasetown to the Paycare Stadium for the second semi-final, The Citizens winning 2-0 thanks to two second half goals from Cook and Bishop.

It has been some weeks since the league season finished. Both clubs will have trained regularly ensuring all players are fit and healthy for this evening’s game. Both squads are expected to be at full strength And if the two league games between the two clubs this season which have seen two 2-2 draws, both times Coleshill coming from two goals behind an exciting evening is installed for all spectators who attend the final at Chasetown tomorrow evening.
