FOOTBALL IS BACK. Darlaston Town start their build-up to their first season in The Northern Premier League with a visit to at Wombourne Leisure Centre to play Wombourne Allstars kick off 2 pm.
Manager Dean Gill’s squad has been building up to tomorrow’s fixture and having completed weeks’ worth of running and hard physical sessions are now looking forward to a competitive game.
The bulk of Darlaston’s squad from last season will be on view tomorrow along with some trialists who will be looking to secure a place in Darlaston’s squad next season.
Tomorrow’s opponents Wombourne Allstars played in West Midlands Regional League Division Two last season finishing in fifth place, winning thirteen of their twenty-four games. Matthew Hogg was their top scorer with 14 goals after returning the club in early November last year. At the end of last season, tomorrow’s opponents have lost a large number of last season’s squad giving manager Ryan Dean a big task to build a new squad.
Tomorrow sees the start of yet another history making season for Darlaston Town, and we hope many Darlaston supporters will make the trip to see how hard the squad has worked in pre-season by travelling to:
