Dean's Weekend Review - What we experienced yesterday is what I expected to experience months ago

Simon Cox13 Apr - 11:12

We worked harder last week than any other week and next week we’ll not spare the horses either in preparations of Grantham

Congratulations to Coventry Sphinx who fully deserved their win yesterday, very good people who were a pleasure to host, I’m sure Sphinx wouldn’t be 17th if they played like that more regularly.

What we experienced yesterday is what I expected to experience months ago and without labouring the point, today I don’t have an articulate summary of why, there are lots of moving parts right now and I’ll hold tight on giving too many answers, reasons, excuses on things until I have real answers and not emotional blurb.

What I do know nobody cares or is trying less.

When you lose and mention the referee you always run the risk of looking silly but I’d hope people who know me well enough know I’m not like that, our man yesterday was strangely poor, almost didn’t officiate using any normal strategy or by the rules of the game, he was the most aggressive and rude person in the ground and I believe it’s only due to two good sets of management & players that the game didn’t descend into red cards and player injury, I know managers who if they were on the end of that type of officiating the game wouldn’t have ended.

We worked harder last week than any other week and next week we’ll not spare the horses either in preparations of Grantham, these are great learning weeks for everyone at the club.

Thank you for your support yesterday and I hope most of you if not all of you can attend the meeting on Wednesday night starting at 7.30 pm.
