t’s been a really positive week at Darlaston HQ. On the staff side, I’m delighted to confirm that Ian Homer has returned as assistant manager. Ian brings huge value and supports my seven-day-a-week approach, so I’m very happy to have him back. We also welcome former Whitchurch Alport manager Adam Shillcock, who has joined us for an initial six-week stint to help us through what will be a very busy period of the season.
On the player front, you’ll have seen that we’ve moved five players on. This has given us more clarity about what we’ve got and what we still need. I’m hopeful of sharing some positive news on that front tomorrow or Tuesday, as we prepare for a huge spell with 25% of the season packed into the next 35 days.
I know I’ve been open about my frustrations in recent weeks, but please understand that everything I say and do is with Darlaston Town’s best interests at heart. I know not everyone will agree with me all the time, and I’m fine with that, but I’d like to think you’d rather hear honesty than spin or empty words.
Now I need your help: please get down to Saturday’s game, get booked on the coach for our away trips, and bring the noise. This month is the biggest we’ve had since we landed in 2021. It’s time to buy a drum, bring the energy, and back the lads all the way.
