Darlaston's Under 18 floodlit side continue to turn heads in their first season in the Midland Midweek Floodlit Youth League.

With ten points in their opening four Western Division League games, travelled to Stapenhill FC to play Southern Division Hednesford Town in the first round of the Colin Lowe Memorial League Cup.

Hednesford had lost just one of their opening four league games so a difficult game looked on the cards. As it transpired a superb performance from the Darlo youngsters saw them sweep aside their illustrious opponents.

The game was wrapped up in the opening 45 minutes as Darlaston raced into a five goal lead. The second half saw the visitors add four further goals in a 9-0 win.

Darlaston have been drawn at home against Sutton Coldfield Town in the second round.

This Monday evening (28 September), the youngsters travel to the Dell Stadium. Brierley Hill where Dudley Town host, in a 7.45 KO.
