The FA has today published the make-up of the forthcoming 2023/24 season.
Once again Darlaston have been placed in The Midland Football League Premier Division which now has seen significant change and consists of just 18 teams, two fewer than last season.
Midland Football League Division One Champions, Dudley Town, enter the Premier Division, but Ashby Ivanhoe who achieved promotion via the play-offs have been moved sideways into The United Counties League, which also sees Midland Football League Premier Division side Racing Club Warwick move sideways into their Premier Division.
Also moved out of the league are Worcester City who have been moved sideways to the Hellenic League.
The Midlands Football League welcomes three new teams which have been moved from the North West Counties League Premier Division, due to a glut of Step 5 clubs in the North West has seen Congleton Town, Northwich Victoria, and Winsford United.
Meanwhile promoted clubs Walsall Wood and Lye Town have both moved into Step 4, whilst relegated Market Drayton Town and Uttoxeter Town have also moved sideways into the North West Counties South Division at Step 6.
Darlaston are assuming that the season will start on Saturday 5th August 2023 with the first qualifying round of next season's FA Cup with the League season starting on either mid-week on 9th August 2023 or more likely Saturday 12th August 2023.
