Next Tuesday evening at 7 pm Darlaston's Under 13's will play Heath Hayes in a first round game

This season Darlaston Town (1874) U13’s Jaguars are playing in the ever-popular Bilston Town Floodlit Cup.

The Jaguars who play on a Saturday in Midland Junior Premier League side have drawn Heath Hayes U13’s in a first-round tie, which is to be played next Tuesday 1st October kick off 7 pm on the main pitch at Bilston Town situated on Queens Street, BILSTON

Bilston Town’s Floodlit Challenge Cup sponsored by Bilston Rotary Club is a unique competition, a Junior Cup Competition played at various ages within junior football starting at U11’s. The competitions were started in the 2009/10 season and is the only midweek junior competition in the country where every game is played under floodlights and on a full-size adult pitch.

Being involved in this competition is a huge thing for youth teams, it’s one of the few chances youth players will ever get to play under floodlights in a competitive environment within a semi-professional football stadium steeped in history, some really famous names has stepped out of Bilston’s tunnel onto their hallowed turf.

Each age group is limited to 32 clubs, clubs travel from all over the Midlands to take part, and over the years places in the competition have been highly sought after, with some age groups having waiting list for teams wishing to enter.

The winners not only received the prestigious title of the Floodlit Cup Winners but also the trophy and the title of Midlands Champions along with a £100 prize supplied by the sponsors Bilston Rotary Club

So next Tuesday evening you will be able to go and watch an U13’s game, drive the 3 miles up the Black Country Route to The Paycare Ground to watch the first competitive game under lights against Walsall Swifts in the J.W. Hunt Cup
