
In our next home game on Saturday 21 October we entertain Coventry Alliance side A.E.I. Rugby in the First Round of the Birmingham County FA Vase.
The club has a proud history in the competition and remain the only club to have won the competition in consecutive years, 1990/91 and 1991/92 beating Chelmsley Wood and Gornal Athletic respectively. To honour this magnificent achievement the club are inviting players and officials from that era to be our VIP guests on the day with free admission, complimentary programme, pre match, half time and post match hospitality.
Former Walsall, Shrewsbury and Darlaston player Mark Bates who was an integral part of both teams has confirmed he will be attending the game and has been in touch with several former players and fans favourites including Mick Rawlings, Paul Brown, Phil Wood, Paul Rideout, Ian Hughes and many others who are also likely to attend. also likely to be attending is former Walsall and Aston Villa player and manager of the 1991/92 cup winning side Jimmy McMorran.
The club are delighted to invite players and officials who have played a significant role in the history of the club to be our VIPs on the day and see the new look team and venue.
