Tomorrow evening Darlaston Town open their pre-season home campaign with the visit of Northern Premier League Midlands Division side Coventry Sphinx, kick off 7.45 pm.

There will of course be many new faces on show both on and off the field after a summer of change. The players and management have been working hard since returning to training and this showed on Saturday at Coventry United when then club suffered a 2-0 defeat after conceding both goals late in the game.

Coventry Sphinx finished 17th in last season’s Midland Division, and when the clubs met at Sphinx both teams played in an entertaining 0-0 draw in August. They met at The Paycare Stadium in March, Sphinx taking all 3 points with a 2-0 win. Sphinx started their pre-season games last Friday evening with a visit to GCE Hire Fleet United Counties Premier Division South side Hinckley and they too lost 2-0.

We very much hope to see a large crowd tomorrow evening at The Paycare.
