Darlaston re-issue their Food Bank Appeal in tribute to Leon Taylor

Neil Chambers31 Dec 2022 - 09:45

With football returning to the Paycare Stadium on Monday, the club intends to support Leon’s family in supporting the food bank at their family church

After the club launched their support to the Food Bank at the Taylor Family Church in November as a tribute to Leon, we were not expecting a six week gap between home first team fixtures. This Monday the first team will return to the Paycare Stadium for the first time since their 2-0 win against Uttoxeter town on the 19th of November.

The club, are once again, appealing for non-perishable food stuffs, along with personal hygiene products to donate in Leon‘s honour with the support of his partner, Kelly, and children together with Leon‘s family to the Taylor family church in Willenhall, who run a food bank for the benefit of the local community.

Following the magnificent response at the Uttoxeter game, the club have decided to continue to support the food bank for at least January due to the first team playing at home five times during the month. along with the return of youth and ladies fixtures who we hope will also support the appeal. All items left in November have already been delivered to the church in Willenhall and distructed to those in need within the local community.

The appeal requires donations of the following suggested items, tinned vegetables, meat, tomatoes, fruit and soup, along with baked beans, spaghetti etc. Dried products for example mash potato, pot, noodles, rice, dried pasta, chocolates, sweets, nappies. Toilet rolls, kitchen rolls, washing up liquid soap, shampoo, toothpaste, shower gel and general household cleaning products as well as personal toiletries.

All donations should be bought to the Paycare Stadium, Bentley Road North, WS2 0EA, the collection point is located within the entrance foyer to the LT9 bar. Donations can be left on or around the table on the right hand side of the entrance.

Donations can be made every weekend on Saturday between 9 am and 5 pm and on Sundays by the youth teams in the changing room corridor when all items will be moved into the club foyer during the week.

On behalf of Leon‘s family and the club. We thank you for your support in this is exceptionally worthwhile cause and we hope that everyone supports it as much as possible
