I thought it was important that due to our successful season of winning the League and the Cup that we had to have a special presentation. All the players deservedly were presented with a memento of the season, instead of the typical trophy that would collect dust, I decided to present each player with a got a framed photograph, as a picture ignites a special memory.

Every player has played their part in making such a successful season for Darlaston Ladies team. This season we had the best defence, midfield, and attack and the results speak volumes. Any team that remains undefeated for the season winning 19 games is worthy of appreciation and reward.

However, the massive support of parents, family, partners, and friends along with the Clubs support has been tenfold. We must also be thankful for Mark (Cos) who has run the line for us all season, Pete and Jayne who must have taken thousands of photos over the season. It has been an absolute honour to have been on this journey and to finish the season as Manager.

I have watched this team grow from the very beginning to the success in which it is now deservedly attaining, all of it, deserved and earned through sheer hard work and the will to win and never give up. This squad is now a very special group of Ladies, and they should be both proud on and off the pitch of their achievements.

Player's Player: Emily Smith
Emily has had a fantastic season and I look forward to watching her grown even more on the pitch and maybe get a few cheeky goals next season. I thought it was great that her hero (her grandad) was able to present her award and it was a nice touch to finish the season.

Manager's Player: Shani Fieldhouse and Lauri Alexandra
Because I am the Manager, I decided to present two awards
Firstly, Lauri has been an outstanding captain. She is very vocal on and off the pitch, always there for the other players and doing the match reports on a Sunday night. Alongside her commitment to training.

Secondly Shani, without her drive and spirit there would be no Darlaston Ladies team, blue and white runs in her blood. She is a rock on the pitch and a mountain off the pitch. What she does for the club is unmatched.

Golden Boot: Sarah Lojko
Another amazing season for the team's top scorer, to score over 30 goals in 19 games is some achievement, Sarah’s finishing in the final was outstanding, two chances two outstanding finishes, that went a long way to winning the first silverware for Darlaston Town since they reformed.

Now that the season has finished and the Ladies can look forward to returning to the West Midlands Regional League, a lot of work needs to be done before the season starts at the beginning of September.

Many thanks to everyone that has helped and supported us all season, there are far too many names to mention, but everything you have done for the Ladies has not gone unnoticed and we are so very grateful.
