Darlaston Ladies are promoted to Tier 6 of the National Women's Pyramid

Simon Cox4 Jun 2021 - 15:15

This afternoon the club was advised by the FA, the Ladies application for promotion had been accepted

Darlaston this afternoon learned directly from the FA, their Ladies team which has only lost a single League game in two seasons have been promoted to the West Midlands Regional Women’s Football League Division One North from next season.

The Ladies performances over the last two seasons have now been acknowledged and have now earned two promotions in consecutive seasons, despite neither season being played in full

Spokesperson Shani Fieldhouse said “We are absolutely delighted to hear the great news that our application to be promoted has been accepted. The squad has been very successful over the past two seasons and have unluckily not received the recognition they deserve due to COVID. The girls will be over the moon, that they will be playing at a much higher level next season. Now we can concentrate on the Covid Cup and win our first trophy for the club. Finally, I would like to thank everyone at Darlaston for their support on and off the pitch and especially for submitting the application on our behalf.

The Ladies promotion will now mean they will be playing at Tier 6 of the National Women's Pyramid against the likes of AFC Telford United, Stoke City (Women) Development, Shifnal Town Ladies, Walsall Ladies, Coventry City Women, and Port Vale Ladies amongst others.

Everyone connected with the Club is overjoyed at the great news and would wish to congratulate the Ladies on their success, and we will be looking to welcoming new teams to the Paycare Ground this season.

The Ladies next game is this coming Sunday away at Bustleholme in the Covid Cup, kick-off 2 pm. The match will be played at Bustleholme's home ground at York Road, ROWLEY REGIS, B65 0RU.
