A second half capitulation against an excellent Sutton United side saw Darlaston humbled in a 6-1 defeat.

With four consecutive wins to their name Sutton United were always going to be difficult opponents and that is exactly what transpired.

Playing out from the back, Sutton were composed and threatening. However Darlaston coped well in the first half and for all of Sutton's possession it was the visitors who had the best chance. Debutant Joseph Attul caused problems with his pace down the left and it was his cross that saw Ezekiel Agyemang clip the post and rebound to safety.

With just seconds left of the first half Sutton took the lead. Jack Sang hitting an unstoppable 22 yard shot into keeper's Adam Jenkins top left hand corner.

The second half was a totally different affair. Within 2 minutes Sutton doubled their lead, Jayden Hunter breaking through the heart of the Darlaston defence to slot home. the visitors were now at sixes and sevens, losing their shape and composure.

Sutton capitalised superbly with Hunter completing his hat trick, with two more well taken goals and Lewis Wall converting from close range.

Darlaston pulled a goal back on 81 minutes with a rare piece of quality. Following an excellent passing move, David Agyekum found the top corner from 20 yards.

The rout was completed when Sang netted his second, another long distance strike into the top corner.

An excellent Sutton side made it five wins on the bounce with a second half performance of the highest quality and a superb display of clinical finishing.
