Darlaston made the long trip to Manchester looking to change their fortunes at Wythenshawe Town, unfortunately despite an improved performance, they fell to two goals in the final 15 minutes.

Manager "Savo" Pearce gave debuts to former Worcester City and Quorn FC midfielder Musa Ceesay and former Sutton United youngster Jack Sang. Lucas Edmunds also came in for his full debut.

The home side took the lead on 7 minutes. A Sajjad Elhassan free kick was spilled by teenager keeper Spencer Tootell, Wythenshawe's Charlie Martin was on hand to drive the ball home from 8 yards.

The game was fairly even, Wythenshawe posing a significant attacking threat through Elhassan and Carmichael. Former West Didsbury and City of Liverpool midfielder Astley Mulholland was pulling the strings for the home side, but chances were limited, neither keeper troubled.

The equaliser came courtesy of a superb Lucas Edmunds strike. After running 30 yards, shrugging off challenges the striker unleashed a low hard drive from fully 25 yards into the bottom corner giving home keeper Sullivan no chance.

The goal gave Darlaston confidence an extra spring in their step as they enjoyed their best spell either side of half time.

Two glorious chances fell to the visitors in the opening 15 minutes of the second half. Central defender Nigel Hinkulow came within inches of connecting with a 3 yard header following a corner. Minutes later an Ezekiel Agyemang shot from 8 yards was fumbled by home keeper Sullivan. Unfortunately for the visitors Sullivan's fumble fell inches the wrong side of the post for a corner which came to nothing.

The game turned into Wythenshawe's favour following a double substitution midway through the second half, Muyengwa and smith adding pace energy and firepower to the visitors attack.

Within 8 minutes of the substitutions poor defending allowed the visitors to go ahead for the second time. Three missed tackles on the goal line eventually saw the ball fall to Muyengwa less than one yard out, tapping home the simplest of chances.

The home side sealed the points five points from time a superb strike from Smith curled into Tootell's top left hand corner.
