Darlaston are on their travels tomorrow with a trip to third placed Vauxhall Motors

Simon Cox12 Dec - 12:50

The Citizens return to league action and the M6 tomorrow with a trip to Ellesmere Port

Tomorrow afternoon Darlaston face the first of two games against teams currently in the top three of the Division.

Firstly we visit third placed Vauxhall Motors at their Elsmere Port ground, and on Wednesday evening Avro travel to the Paycare Stadium.

Vauxhall Motors are in excellent form having won the last five consecutive fixtures with home wins over Sporting Khalsa (4-0) and Mossley (2-1) and away wins over Trafford (2-1), Stafford Rangers (4-2) and last Saturday Nantwich Town (5-3).

Recent form has seen them rise to third in the table having played 21 games, won 10, drawn 7 and lost 4 so far this season, and they are three points behind second place Avro who have played two games less.

The Motormen travelled to The Paycare Stadium in mid September, Vauxhall Motors winning 2-1. Darlaston opened the scoring after 14 minutes with a James Roland goal and the second half saw a rejuvenated Vauxhall Motors take three points. They equalised after 52 minutes with an exceptional Finley Heath free kick and the second game from top scorer Joe Malkin with a finish from inside the six yard box.

Darlaston’s young squad will face a huge test tomorrow at VanEupen Arena. And they go into tomorrow’s game with the possible addition of two new players to the squad following Tuesday nights 3-0 defeat at Enterprise National League Tamworth in the Birmingham Senior Cup.

Darlaston’s recent results certainly does not tell the whole story of their performance and hopefully, which has been steadily improving over recent weeks and tomorrow will be an excellent test of how far they have come since the early part of the season.

Tomorrow’s game is being played at:

The VanEupen Arena
Rivacre Road
Ellsmere Port
CH66 1NJ

Kick-off – 3.00 p.m.

Turnstiles open at 1.30 p.m.

Admission – Adults £10.00, Concessions and 16-18 year olds £7.00, Under 16’s £2.00 and printed match day programme at £3.00 each.

Seats are still available on the team coach travelling up to Ellesmere Port tomorrow which will leave the Paycare Stadium at 10.30 a.m. and if you are interested in reserving a seat at a cost of £15.00, please contact Away Match Day Co-Ordinator Peter Davis as soon as possible on 07847 829921

We hope to see a large contingent of Darlaston supporters make the trip back up the M6 to Cheshire and look forward to seeing you all tomorrow.
