Final day has NOT started well, early this morning Chairman Neil Chambers axed manager Andy Parkes and media man Simon Cox

Just hours before the West Midlands (Regional) League Twitter Trophy Final against Wyrley FC Chairman Neil Chambers ego finally got the better of him as he dismissed first team manager Andy Parkes and Social media Guru Simon Cox.

Chambers dropped the bombshell when he confirmed he would take over as manager for the game. He said " I have been disappointed with some of Andy's team selections during this cup run and when I suggested some names for him to draft in for the final he laughed in my face". Commenting on Cox's dismissal Chambers said" That man had the gall to suggest I had a sense of humour. That type of remark is outrageous and totally unacceptable. He brought me and the club into disrepute. He had to go and until I get a full unreserved public apology he will not be welcome at this club".

On hearing of her husband's dismissal, Emma Parkes said " Chambers is a knob, always has been a knob and always will be a knob. He should leave his remarks on the back burner. I hope our supporters give him a roasting and the committee gives him a grilling. He will only last one game and then he will be toast." When asked to comment Chambers said "that woman is obsessed with ovens and cooking".

Chambers said the last straw came when Parkes refused his suggestion to bring in fresh blood from Hawkins Sports and Social Club Thursday Night (useless) Darts team. Players such as Pete Post, "The Clown", Stevie G, "Exeter Gently" and Rooney live in the Gt Wyrley and Cheslyn Hay and have plenty of local knowledge. Most importantly they are my drinking buddies, they drink like fishes and will put a fortune behind the bar..

Of the current squad several are unavailable. Ryan Jones is still on tag. In hearing his case and after watching video evidence the Judge said it was the worst case of impersonating a defender he had ever seen. Zico and Ty are both in a body beautiful competition, Jamie Holder is playing darts with his nan (she's not very happy) whilst Connor Hopkins is playing the good little boy for his mom. Ricardo and Liam Smith are making a single with Captain Tom whilst Sammy C and Reis are out with Peeping Tom. "Dipsy" Hough is colouring his roots whilst Luke Charlton is colouring a book. Luke Wilson is making a sandwich he is short of for his picnic, Isaac is red raw after his NHS charity bike ride (well done Isaac) whilst after 4 solid days of receiving treatment from Aimee for groin strains Aidan and Beks report no progress - wonder why!

There is though some good news. Following excellent debuts Shani Fieldhouse and Sara Lojko from the Ladies team will retain their places. No one is brave enough to tell Shani she is dropped whilst Sara has recovered from her injury after she lost an eye lash.

After reading the history books and watching 100s of videos and DVDs of Wolves and Albion games over the last 50 years veterans Ant Follows and Nick Lewis have finally accepted Wolves and Albion have won f..k all and are available for selection.

Gil "The Cat" Preece has been recalled to the squad after he confirmed the vet has extracted his tail from between his legs and he has promised to leave his fluffy pink slippers at home. Finally Leon "The Legend " Taylor is back following his broken finger nail injury. Whilst looking in the mirror Taylor was heard to say "they will never win anything without me, the gaffa needs me, the team needs me, I will play through the pain, I will be back".

Seriously though win, lose or draw the winners in this competition are all of the clubs in the West Midlands Regional League. The publicity and exposure has been fantastic and Ryan Boyd has done a great job organising the tournament. The clubs and supporters have entered into the spirit of the competition and the voting has been unbelievable.

Voting starts at 7.30pm so please vote for Darlaston Town.
