Darlaston Town are delighted to confirm Manager Dean Gill has added three new players to his squad in recent days.
When asking him about the new signings Dean said “have tried to sign several players the last month or so and for many reasons it hasn’t worked, I’ve spoken to many lads some experienced some young but all want to talk money & guaranteed game time before taking responsibility to be good enough themselves and accepting the challenge to be good enough to get into a competitive side in an honest environment, it’s not a criticism it’s just an acceptance from me that it takes time to find good hungry motivated players nowadays with the volume of money being paid.”
Two of the three new players who are both strikers but very different kinds of players made their debuts on Saturday in the 2-1 win over Market Drayton Town, the first being Tyler Bruck, Tyler signed from Uttoxeter Town is on loan from Solihull Moors, a young 18 year old
striker who leads the line well and scores goals, Dean said of Tyler “We saw in small glimpses of what Tyler is about in his 20 minute contribution on Saturday, I sent him on with 20 to go in torrential rain at 1-1 to make a difference and he most certainly did that, Tyler has exceptional body language for a young man, body language of a winner and I hope we can help him grow into a better player, there is no pressure on him to do anything other than work hard and enjoy his football with us.”
Dean went onto say about the two remaining players “We’re happy to bring in 2 players on short term loans to assist us with fixture congestion and the timing of several players being unavailable for selection though Injury and suspension”.
Next up is Isaac Jagroop, a strong big forward who joined us from Lye Town and Isaac’s parent club is Step 4 side Sporting Khalsa. The 28-year-old played at Ipswich Town
as a youngster has been around the non-league scene in the Midlands for some years, playing at fellow MFL sides Stourport Swifts and Highgate United as well as Step 4 side Bromsgrove Sporting. Dean said of Isaac “Issac joins from Lye Town, but he is on loan from Sporting Khalsa who are his parent club. Issac is a big strong boy as I am sure you are aware from his physique but as we saw on Saturday, he’s a very tidy footballer with a great touch always looking to bring his fellow players into the game and is a very good character.
Lastly Darlaston have secured the services once again of a midfielder who played for the club exactly 12 months ago to get back his match fitness whilst recovering from injury, his
contribution at an important time brought us a win at Atherstone in the Midweek Floodlit Challenge Cup, as well as big wins against Paget Rangers, Cradley Town and in a big local derby against Wednesfield. Please welcome back to the club midfielder Mitch Botfield. Mitch will be joining on a dual registration with Chasetown where he is having a good season after forcing his way back into the starting XL when he had recovered fully from injury. When asked about “Botty” Manager Dean Gill said, “Mitch played several games at the end of last season when recovering from injury so he’s no stranger to our lads, beast of a lad when fit & flying.”
Welcome to the Club lads, we hope you enjoy your time with us.
