Due to a necessary change within the club structure the directors and club committee are delighted to announce that with immediate effect the clubs first team will revert to the original club’s name Darlaston Town FC.

The club were unable to reform in 2014 using the old clubs name due to FA Regulations, but this change which was voted for by the clubs members as the recent EGM at the end of may, allows this important change to happen.

Chairman Neil Chambers said “ We are absolutely delighted to make today’s announcement, the club has such a long history, and with our 150 year celebrations just around the corner, it is an ideal time to make the change. The name change will only effect the first team, the remainder of the club, including the Junior section and the Ladies will still play under the existing name Darlaston Town 1874 FC.

“We are hopeful that the supporters will also be delighted with the change of name, and it will be the start of what we hope will be exciting times ahead on the eve of a new season and with the forthcoming anniversary celebrations that will commence at the beginning of the 2024/2025 season 150 years after the club played its first game.
