Darlaston Town (1874) are delighted to announce the signing of three young players all from Total Motion Midlands League Premier Division sides. The club is delighted to welcome goalkeeper Ryan Pratt, midfielder Alex Solomon and forward Adam Skeldon.
All three players featured in Saturdays 3-2 win against Warstones Wanderers in the 1st Round of the J. W. Hunt Cup.
The management team of Andy Parkes and Scott Moore are delighted to have added the three talented players to their squad, each bringing something totally different to the group. Manager Parkes said, “Even though we have had a great start to the season, we have identified areas of the squad that we felt we were short, and Ryan, Adam and Alex all bring something to the group that we didn't have before”.
“The three lads are all outstanding prospects and have a long future in the game. We have explained what we are trying to achieve at Darlaston and they have all signed up to be involved. Every member of the squad is aware that no one is guaranteed a shirt on a Saturday afternoon, they have to be earned. Also if players don’t perform, there are others waiting to step in who will.”
So lets introduce the players
Ryan Pratt

Ryan is a 16 year old goalkeeper signed from Sporting Khalsa, Ryan actually played in the second half for Khalsa against us in our recent pre-season friendly. Ryan has proved what a great shot stopper he is, having played in goal last week against the newly formed Darlaston Vets team for Walsall F.C. Supporters Trust when he produced a “Man of the Match” performance when playing against his manager and first team forward Mark Swann. To say Ryan is just a shot-stopper is a great injustice as he proved in Saturday’s game, his communication is great together with his domination of the penalty area.
Adam Skeldon

Adam is a 20-year-old forward signed from Lye Town. Adam has started five games for Lye this season, but supporters may remember him for his time at Wednesfield last season. Adam started Saturday’s game, and proved what a versatile player he is, able to find the gaps between the opposition midfield and defence linking play well He also has an eye for goal, not only from close range but from distance too, having a good shot with both feet. Some may say Adams best attribute is his pace, playing on the shoulder of the last defender, something we are looking forward to seeing in the coming weeks.
Alex Solomon

Alex a 19-year-old technically gifted midfielder has joined from AFC Wulfrunians. Alex came on first change in Saturday’s game just after Warstones had taken the lead and made an instant difference. He covers ground very quickly, some will call him a box to box midfielder, but he is more than that, also offer calmness, when under pressure on Saturday Alex always looked to have time when he was on the ball. Always available for a pass linking play very well looking to move the ball forwards at every opportunity. Alex certainly has an eye for goal, given his outstanding goal on Saturday, his 25-yard curling effort levelling the scores. It will be interesting in the coming weeks how the management duo will best use his talents.
