For the first time since 26 February 2022, Darlaston scored 5 goals away from home in a league fixture. On that day we beat Dudley Sports 5-0 in the Midland Football League Division One. Scorers were Lewis Gill, Ben Priest, Jake Pearson, Jeevan Purewal and Kieran Miller.

Darlaston boss Adam Pearce made 3 changes from the aide that lost to Stone O.A. 3 days earlier, Isaac Cooper, Piers Juliff and David Agyekum in the starting line up at the expense of Fin Douglas, Ben McSkeane and Tyrike Burke Richards.

On a rock hard pitch Darlaston were much improved from Saturday, playing neat controlled football. The conditions made it difficult for both sides, giving the ball away unnecessarily, but the work rate and energy of both sides was first class.

David Agyekum gave the visitors an early lead on 6 minutes, his low drive from 18 yards giving keeper Declan Hammond no chance.

Some sloppy defensive work saw the home side equalise before Ezekiel Agyemang and Wayne Muyabi combined allowing Muaybi to swivel in the box and slot past Hammond to restore the visitors lead.

The rest of the half saw Darlaston on top, Juiff having two 25 yard efforts well saved before an Agyemang effort was pushed onto the foot of the post by Hammond. Standout skipper Jordan Spragg demonstrated why he was a central defender and not a centre forward as he blazed high over the bar from 10 yards (sorry Spraggy).

On the stroke of half time Juliff again went close his vicious drive rebounding off the woodwork.

The second half saw the visitors assert and on 55 minutes Agyemang added a third goal, his goal bound effort deflecting into the net off a defender.

The visitors strike force of Muyabi, Agyemang and Juliff, were giving the home defence a torrid time but Sahil Sajad and Harry Smart were superb making several last ditch tackles and interventions including a goal line clearance from Agyemang. Hammond making several fine saves to keep his goal in tact.

The visitors pressure finally paid off, following a neat exchange of passes substitute Richards - Burke drilled home a low drive beyond Hammond from the edge of the box. The 5th goal saw another substitute Mac Lee rise high to power home a Riley Keasey corner.

Overall a much improved performance with the back line of Adam Jenkins in goal competently dealing with everything thrown at him. Full backs Cooper and Keasey were strong in the tackle, getting forward at every opportunity. Hayden Seymour, Agyekum and Nathan Oyemade were dominant in midfield with the front three a constant goal threat.

Substitutes, Tom Cox, Max Morris, Ben McSkeane, Lee and Richards - Burke all played their part, seamlessly fitting in to round off an excellent all round team performance.
