What's on at The Paycare Ground this weekend?

What with a huge local derby against Bilston, one of the countries best tribute bands, as well as our ladies team, it will be a VERY busy weekend

This weekend, Saturday 21st September 2019 sees Darlaston’s two Midland Junior Premier League teams the playing away. Firstly, Richard Coopers’ U13’s Jaguars don’t have too far to travel to Kingswinford to take on Kewford Eagles South. Meanwhile whilst Steve Beaches U16’s faces a really long trip down to Shepshed Dynamo who play in Loughborough. Both games kick off at 10.30 am

Saturday afternoon sees the big local derby – two local football Clubs with intertwined histories over a number of years meet for the first time for many a year in a West Midlands Regional League game.

Darlaston Town 1874 entertain Bilston Town, kick-off 3.00 p.m. and it promises to be with the weather set fair, a large crowd as Andy Parkes’ squad will be looking to get back to winning ways.

Last weekend Bilston recorded their first win of the season beating Cradley Town at Queens Street, two late goals in extra time were needed to secure the points after Cradley had led the game for the last third. The derby is sure to be full-blooded affair cheered on by hopefully a large contingent of spectators from both clubs.

The bar opens as usual around 1.00 p.m. supplying hot food prior to the game together with the usual alcoholic beverages and hot and cold drinks.

Darlaston’s world famous ‘cobs’ will also be on sale.

Saturday evening Darlaston have another one of their hugely popular social evenings. We are delighted to introduce Essential 80’s an award winning 1980’s tribute band who will be playing 80’s music all evening.

Sunday Darlaston Youth teams will be playing at the Paycare Ground - . Darlaston Town’s U14’s Cannons are without a fixture. Top of the table Darlaston Town U15 Warriors entertaining Sporting Khalsa Youth, Karl Norman’s side currently head Division One on goal difference winning both of their opening two games of the Season beating Wigmore Colts 5-2 and Lane-head Tigers 3-1.

Darlaston’s second U15’s side The Vipers, who play in the same Division travel to Wigmore Colts at Churchfields Playing Fields, this after losing out to Tipton Youth on the opening weekend of the Season 1-0 and Sporting Khalsa who inflected an 8-4 loss on The Vipers last Sunday at The Paycare Ground.
Both games kick off at 2.15 pm

Darlaston’s Lions head the U18’s Division One winning their first two games beating Amarda 2-1 in the opening weekend and last weekend a 3-0 victory against Great Barr United.

Gary Hale’s side travel to Hednesford Town for a 2.15 p.m. kick-off on Sunday afternoon.

Finally, the Darlaston’s new Ladies Team, who have started the Season at a tremendous rate of knots winning their opening two games sitting top of the Birmingham County Women’s League Division One with six points with a goal difference of +26 after scoring 15 unanswered goals in their opening fixture of the Season and then last Sunday travelling to Nuneaton securing a 12-1 win.

So for anyone wanting a “football fix” over the weekend The Paycare Ground could be well worth a visit

Entrance to all Youth and Ladies games is FREE

The First Team Game on Saturday afternoon against Bilston kicks-off at 3.00 p.m. – Admission is £5.00 for Adults - £3.00 for Concessions and £1.00 for Children (Under 10’s free)
