Tomorrow night Dalaston's U13's Jaguars play in the Bilston Floodlit Cup

Darlaston's Under 13's are playing against Heath Hayes in a first round game of this seasons popular youth floodlit cup competition

Tomorrow night Darlaston fans are in for a night of floodlit football.

First up is Darlaston Town (1874) U13's Jaguars who play on a Saturday in Midland Junior Premier League side travel 3 miles down the Black Country Route to take on fellow MJPL side Heath Hayes at the home of Bilston Town kick off 7 pm.

Bilston Town’s Floodlit Challenge Cup sponsored by Bilston Rotary Club is a unique competition, a Junior Cup Competition played at various ages within junior football starting at U11’s. The competitions were started in the 2009/10 season and is the only midweek junior competition in the country where every game is played under floodlights and on a full-size adult pitch.

Being involved in this competition is a huge thing for youth teams, it’s one of the few chances youth players will ever get to play under floodlights in a competitive environment within a semi-professional football stadium steeped in history, some really famous names has stepped out of Bilston’s tunnel onto their hallowed turf.

Each age group is limited to 32 clubs, clubs travel from all over the Midlands to take part, and over the years places in the competition have been highly sought after, with some age groups having waiting list for teams wishing to enter.

The winners not only received the prestigious title of the Floodlit Cup Winners but also the trophy and the title of Midlands Champions along with a £100 prize supplied by the sponsors Bilston Rotary Club
