Darlo Ladies welcome a successful Shifnal Town Ladies side tomorrow for a 2 pm kick off

Darlaston Ladies tomorrow will be wearing the blue and white stripes of Darlaston Town for the first time as they play their first ever home game at The Paycare Ground, when they welcome Shifnal Town Ladies, who will be playing three divisions higher than Darlaston this season. This is after Shifnal’s men’s team gave Darlaston’s first team a footballing lesson last week at the same venue.

Shifnal earned promotion into Step 5 of the Women’s game and will be playing their football in the Premier Division of the West Midlands Regional Women’s Football League after finishing runners-up to Leek Town in Division One North last season. They will be playing against the likes of Worcester City Ladies, Lye Town Ladies and Redditch Untied Women to name a few

Mangers McKee and Ball are expecting a tough afternoon for their side but feel quietly confident in getting a result. McKee said “It’s a seriously tough friendly, but at this stage of pre-season we need to test ourselves, you just cannot start a season beating most teams by several goals, because in the cup competitions we will face teams from this level and higher and we intend to compete at this level. Tomorrow we have 3 players unavailable, however we feel the squad we have are more than capable of giving a real good account of themselves. In saying that Darlaston ladies will have to be at the best and remain there for the entire game, we had a great result in our last game against Nuneaton, this week will be a good test for them.”

So why not get yourselves down to The Paycare Ground tomorrow afternoon, for a 2 pm kick off. Entrance to the game is free to all.

Come and see what ladies’ football is all about, and believe me when I say, you will be seriously surprised and impressed.
