Darlaston have supplied players in their history to League clubs all over the country. Todays article lists those to current Premier League sides

Of this season's Premier League clubs Darlaston have had players represent 12 of them. Yes, in its 145 year history our little old club has had players play for Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa, Wolves, Crystal Palace, Leicester City, Southampton, Watford, Burnley, Bournemouth and Norwich City

There are too many to mention who have played for Wolves but some notables include James Baker who played as a teenager for Darlaston before being signed by Wolves in 1931 for a fee equivalent to £6,500 today. Others include Arthur Hartshorne, Fred Marson, Jimmy Alderton, England International and FA Cup winner Norman Deeley , George Bould and former Darlo player/manager Terry Wharton. Les Cocker was also at Wolves before becoming a Birmingham Senior Cup winner with Darlo in 1973 (see photograph opposite)

John Cooper and Henry Johnson both moved to Southampton from Darlaston in 1921 (see photograph opposite) whilst goalkeeper Tommy Read made more than 100 Division One (now premier league) for Grimsby Town before moving to Crystal Palace whilst Fred Shaw was at Bournemouth and striker Bill Chambers made 2 appearances for Burnley following his move from Darlo in 1929.

‏‏After playing for his home town club as a teenager former England captain, FA Cup winner and 2 time FA Cup winning manager Billy Walker is still Aston Villa's all time leading goal scorer. Other former Darlaston players to grace Villa Park include Keith Leonard, John Sharples and former Darlo player/manager Jimmy McMorran.

Joe Nicholls played 129 games for Spurs whilst centre half Harry Skitt made 229 appearances for Spurs between 1924 and 1931 following his £1,500 transfer. Former keeper and Darlo manager Geoff Barnsley moved from Plymouth to Norwich City in 1961 where he made 8 appearances. (see photograph opposite)

Record transfer Arthur Cashmore (see caricature) played 3 games for Manchester United before a series of moves saw him find his way to Darlaston. Became the club's record transfer when he signed for Cardiff City in 1919 for £51,000 in today's money. George Drury made 38 appearances for Arsenal and played 35 games for Watford before joining Darlaston in 1952

Brian Punter was at Leicester City before he became a Birmingham Senior Cup winner with Darlaston in 1973 (see colour picture above ) as was Gordon Wills who made 111 appearances for Leicester.
