Darlaston welcome a new player to the fold after impressing against them in a pre-season friendly

Manager Andy Parkes and his management team are not ones to stand still for too long. After impressing in a recent pre-season friendly, Parkes has moved swiftly to add even more forward power to his squad which is already full of forward talent.

Darlaston would like to welcome Romano Graham to the squad. Romano was signed from Midland League outfit Coton Green, after scoring a goal in the final minutes of the recent pre-season friendly at The Paycare Ground with a blistering cross shot.

Andy said of Romano “we were impressed with his outstanding performance against us recently, we had to ask if he would be interested in joining us after we had completed our homework, and he fits exactly what we have been looking for as well as he lives locally and was travelling large distances to play in the Midland League. Rom is very dynamic, powerful and exceptionally quick, with a bullet of a right foot, as we found to our cost when he scored against us in pre-season."

"Romano will bring something I feel we have been missing, his will give us raw pace and a willingness to work unselfishly for the team, I am really looking forward to seeing what he can do with the support of the other players in the squad" added Parkes.

Romano went straight into Darlaston’s squad for Saturday’s game against Smethwick, but unfortunately due to injury’s he didn’t get to make his debut, which surely will not be long before he wears the blue and white of Darlaston Town.

Last season Rom played 31 times (eight from the bench) for Coton Green after joining from Wednesfield scoring 12 goals. But goals is not all what Romano is all about, its his movement, work rate off the ball and team ethic, he will not only provide goals, he will create and provide chances for his teammates because of his unselfish team ethic
Romano’s previous clubs include Walsall Wood, Dudley Sports and Wednesfield
