Manager Parkes and his squad will tomorrow on their return to the Paycare Ground look to put an end to Bewdley' s unbeaten start to the season.

After last weeks away trip to Black Country Rangers which ended in the clubs first 0-0 draw since reforming six years ago, Darlaston return to the Paycare Ground tomorrow to entertain second placed Bewdley Town who remain unbeaten in the League so far this season. They lost in midweek in the first round of the League Cup against Littleton 2-5 at Ribbersford Meadow on Tuesday night.

Bewdley over the years have suffered tremendously with their pitch and since securing a grant at the end of the 2016/17 Season from the F.A. they have been able to carry out extensive drainage works to the pitch during the summer months of 2017, which has now seen the surface improve tremendously.

Over the years Bewdley have been reasonably successful finishing high in the League but have always fell away at the season’s end because of a long back-log of fixtures, hopefully now in future years to come that will no longer be such a large problem allowing the club to progress forward.

It is clear in Dillon Hart and Luke Morris that they have an exceptionally talented forward line, between them having scored 20 goals so far this season, Simon Rudd has also chipped in with 6.

The Season started in outstanding fashion with an 8-1 home win against Wem Town followed by a 3-2 win at promotion favourites Wolverhampton Sporting Community, this after Sporting’s’ keeper Richard Kennedy was sent off in the 16th minute, replaced by an outfield player. Going into the last 10 minutes of the game Bewdley led 2-1, a goal from Simon Rudd in the 80th minute 3-1, but Nicholas Turton for Wolves Sporting scored with 7 minutes left for a frantic finish with Bewdley hanging on to secure the three points in such an important game in the early stage of the Season.

Bewdley then have played six games on the bounce at home in the League and F.A. Vase. Bank Holiday weekend saw a 4-0 home win against Wednesfield with four different scorers for the home side, an unfortunate F.A. Vase exit 2-1 against Alsager Town. Returning to League action at the beginning of September a 4-1 win against Bilston followed by a 3-1 win over Division One Champions Worcester Raiders.

Last Saturday Bewdley secured a 5-1 win against bottom club Cradley Town scoring three goals in the first half, one of those in extra time just before the interval.

In mid-week Bewdley entertained Littleton in The Premier League Division Cup, Morris & Smith scoring for Bewdley with Aaron Stubbings `was shown a straight red on 73 minutes. Littleton scorers were Ben Billingham, Jake Pearman, James Ward and two from Adam Garmson off the bench, securing a place in the Second Round draw. This is the first time little have played in the competition after their sideways move into the WMRL from the Midland Football League at the beginning of this season.

Darlaston are sure to face one of their biggest tests of the season tomorrow, after last weeks disciplined performance against Black Country Rangers, the management will be looking for a repeat performance. Manager Parkes still has his two long-term absentees in Andy Hill and Tyrone Clarke being unfit, along with for the second weekend Ryan Jones. T.J. Davis has left the club this week for pastures new along with Joe Baker returned to F.C. Darlaston the club would like to wish both players the very best for the future.

Last weekend Scott Stephenson made an impressive debut in midfield and as Scott’s fitness returns, we are sure to see the best of him in the coming weeks.

The remainder of the squad, although some are carrying knocks, will all be available for selection and therefore Darlaston will once again run out at home as underdogs against clearly one of the Divisions top sides, Parkes and his men will be looking to try and earn another three points.

Bar and Club will be open as usual from around 12.30 – 1.00 p.m. serving its usual high-quality fare before the game, so if you fancy lunch and a pint beforehand, together with maybe one of the “world’s best cobs”.

Kick-Off is as usual 3.00 p.m.

Entrance - £5.00 for Adults, £3.00 for Concessions, Children Under 10 Free.

We look forward to seeing you tomorrow to help cheer the lads on.
