Tomorrow is the last away game for a month, as Darlaston have four home league games along with cup and celebration games all at The Paycare Ground

Tomorrow Darlaston Town travel to The Beeches the home of Cradley Town, the last away game Andy Parkes’ men will play for a month as their next away game is a trip to Ludlow to play Shawbury United in the middle of November.

In the coming weeks Darlaston will play six games at the Paycare Ground including three mid-week fixtures.

Tomorrow they face manager less Cradley Town after manager Chris Butts and his assistant Jack Allen resigned early this week. First team coach James Bushell has been appointed by the clubs board as Interim Manager until a new manager is found.

Cradley Town after a successful season last term finishing in mid-table under the management of Butts, I am sure the club and the management were looking forward to further progression this season. Unfortunately, that has not happened The Hammers are have dropped to the bottom of the table in recent weeks. So far they have a single win and eight losses in their games so far this season, with a goal difference of -14.

The season started with a 4-1 loss to current unbeaten Division leaders Shifnal Town, followed by a 2-0 win at The Beeches against Smethwick Rangers, Adam Jones and Dominic Strevens scoring the goals.

A tough 3-2 loss away at Wem Town, ex Darlaston player Adam Skeldon scoring a brace. Two games against Wolves Sporting finishing August off, the first in The Premier Division clash resulting in Cradley losing 1-0 lat Pride Park, The following Saturday a repeat journey for Chris Butt’s squad back to Sporting this time for an F.A. Vase game, The Hammers returned home beaten again this time 3-0.

Back to League football for September, the month started with a 3-2 loss at home against inform seventh placed A.F.C. Bridgnorth Lucas Muckley and Adam Skeldon scoring for Cradley. Next came a trip across the Black Country to Bilston Town saw yet another late goal cost The Hammers dearly in a 3-2 loss for the second week running, goals this time came from midfielder Kieran Day and defender Jamie Tomlinson.

Cradley’s last two fixtures have seen a 5-1 loss at, at the time unbeaten second placed Bewdley Town Day once again on the score sheet.Last Saturday Last Season’s Division One Champions Worcester Raiders, who are due to travel to The Paycare Ground next Saturday were at The Beeches, taking the 3 points back home to Worcester with them, ex Cradley marksman Ryan Rowe scoring twice and Kirk Layton added the third

Andy Parkes and his squad are unsure as to what they face tomorrow, especially with Cradley losing their manager earlier in the week.

Darlaston’s squad are once again without long-term absentees Andy Heal and Tyrone Clarke, although some good news has filtered through, Andy Heal has started light training. Andy Parkes said this morning “Almost all of the squad are available for tomorrows game. One or two players have some minor niggles, along with the usual coughs and colds which everyone seem to have at the moment, so I expect to be leaving some players out, which is unfortunate, but I can only take a squad of 16. Tomorrow is our last away game for a month, we play 6 or 7 games at home on the trot, that includes the game against Walsall, we will have to look at how much players will be playing, and hope we don’t pick up any needless injuries in any games”.

Tomorrow’s game is being played at Cradley’s ground the full address is The Beeches, Beeches View Avenue, Cradley, Halesowen, B63 2HB.

Kick-off is as usual at 3.00 p.m. and we look forward to seeing as many of Darlaston supporters as possible to hopefully continue the run that Darlaston appear to have started.

Just a quick reminder, the next game is next Tuesday evening at The Paycare Ground, first competitive game under lights where Division Town side Walsall Town Swifts come to Darlaston for a first round J.W. Hunt Cup clash – Kick-off 7.45 p.m.
