Tomorrow Black Country Rangers will be looking to avenge their defeat at The Paycare Ground at the end of Augusts season

Tomorrow, Darlaston travel to the new home of Black Country Rangers for the first return fixture this season, this after Darlaston’s 4-0 win at The Paycare Ground at the end of August. Before the game Black Country Rangers were lying in fourth place, five places above Darlaston and 2 points ahead of them. After last season’s well documented upheaval at Black Country Rangers following Wayne Spicer leaving the Club in November, the Club managed to finish in a more than creditable fifth position under the management of Pete Whitehouse and Steve Hinks who managed to recruit a bunch of talented youngsters to finish the season in reasonable style.

This term Sean Geddes has been at the helm and after starting the Season in good outstanding fashion at Wem Town with a 5-1 win, followed by a 1-1 draw at Bilston Town, losing 2-1 in their first game at York Road against AFC Bridgnorth but prior to the Darlaston game they suffered a huge blow when Adam Garmson left Black Country after scoring five goals in four games to join promotion hopefuls Littleton after a 7-day approach.

After Darlaston’s win that saw then leap frog Black Country Sean Geddes’ squad have risen above Darlaston with two wins taking them into fifth place. Rangers have played 7 games, won 4, drawn 1 and lost 2, with a total of 13 points, once again the teams are separated by 2 points.

September Black Country have played just three games two in the league and one in the F.A. Vase which they were knocked out by Leicester Road who dished out an 8-0 drubbing at York Road. Two games in the Premier Division produced a 4-0 win at Smethwick Rangers, four different scorers with Geddes, Gill, Wood and Robinson scoring and last weekend a 3-1 win at Cradley Town, Siviter and two from ex-WBA & Port Vale striker Kayelden Brown, securing the 3 points.

Darlaston are still without long term injury victims Tyrone Clarke-O’Connell and Andy Hill. The list has grown longer this week with Romano Graham added after last weeks’ 3-0 win against Bilston and he has also been joined by new signing Adam Cole and Ryan Jones. Adrian Blackham is suspended so Manager Parkes’ squad seems to be a little thin, which despite the 4-0 win four weeks ago at the Paycare Ground, Black Country Rangers will start as red-hot favourites, as they have been recruiting well in recent weeks.

The West Midlands Regional League Premier Game will kick-off at 3.00 p.m. to be played at York Road Stadium, York Road Sports and Social Club, 35-37 York Road, OLDBURY, B65 0RR.

We hope to see many of Darlaston’s supporters tomorrow to come and support the lads.
