Tomorrow Tipton will look to win the prestigious Birmingham County FA Vase for the first time when they face Enville Athletic

Darlaston would like to wish their near neighbours Tipton Town the very best in tomorrow’s Birmingham County F.A. Saturday Vase Final against Enville Athletic from Division Three of The Total Motion Midlands League.

Neil Perks and his squad are the first West Midlands Regional League Division One team to reach the final since Dean Gill’s Wednesfield won the trophy three or four seasons ago.

Tipton’s opponents Enville Athletic have had a mixed Season. Enville finished in 9th place winning 13 and losing 13 of their 30-game season, drawing four games and finishing on a goal difference of -7. Enville’s young squad finished their season on 4th May 2019 whereas Tipton finished their season some two weeks earlier and have been having to play friendlies to try to keep match fit. Enville’s dangerman is top goal scorer Reece Morgan who has scored 30 goals so far, alongside 9 man of the match nominations and number equalled by Michael Perks.

Tipton has a devastating strike force with T.J. Davis and Scott Broadway, Tipton’s top scorer with 20 goals, T.J. Davis with 16 alongside with receiving 13 man of the match nominations from the opposition along with Sam Hesson and Leighton Gould in the mid-field and keeper Chris Thomas who joined Tipton mid-way through the Season from Tividale. They will all be looking to beat their opponents and lift the Vase.

The game is being played at the home of Birmingham County F.A. in the Walter Goodman Stadium situated off Ray Hall Lane, Birmingham, B43 6JF. Kick-off is 2.00 p.m.

Admission is £3.00 for adults and £1.00 for concessions with each admission including a match-day programme.

Both Clubs will be looking to win the trophy for the first time in their long histories.

Enville Athletic in the first round beat fellow Division Three side F.C. Shush 3-0 before beating Crown FMN. a Birmingham County F.A. Premier Division team in a much closer game 3-2. In the third round they squeezed past Boldmere Sports & Social Falcons on penalties after a 2-2 draw in normal time. A quarter final 3-1 win against fellow Midland Total Motion Division side Coventry Plumbing and in the semi-final Enville beat Alcester Town the champions of the Total Motion Midlands Football League Division Three convincingly 3-1 away from home to reach the Final.

Tipton’s journey to the final has been also difficult at times. A 3-2 victory against Woodlands W.M.C. from The Coventry Alliance Premier Division saw them progress into the second round. They saw off Coventry Alvis from Division 2 of the Midlands Football League 1-0 away from home. Third round saw a home fixture against Moors Academy with Tipton running out 3-2 winners and another home draw in the quarter final saw an extremely close affair against Castle Vale with a 4-4 score line at full-time with Tipton wining 5-4 at the end of extra time on penalties. The semi-final against Village First A Football Club away from home in March, who play in the Birmingham A.F.A. Premier Division with a resounding 4-0 win then seeing Tipton progress through to tomorrow’s final.
