Last season’s promotion winning Management Team will look to break new ground in step 5

Darlaston Town 1874 FC are delighted to confirm that Dean Gill and his management team will continue in their roles following a successful first season in charge when they managed to secure promotion through the playoffs in a most exciting first week of May.

Every management team and club set goals at the beginning of the season, but rarely are they achieved, this season they were despite having to deal with the devastating loss of Leon Taylor.

Dean, Lee Turton and Tom Pinder are now looking to assemble a squad to play for the first time in the club’s long history at Step 5. Also returning will be physio Reece Frendo to complete the quartet leading last season’s success.

I spoke to Dean earlier who said” Staying on was never really in question, I think everyone seemed to take breath for a week or so after promotion within the club, but as long as the club wanted to keep moving forward in a sensible sustainable way, then we were always going to stay.

As a club we don’t say X and deliver Y, we do what we say, which means at times we don’t say much because until we’re all on the same page, we keep talking and understanding until we are, therefore when we act, we’re decisive and successful.

We’re extremely positive about next season, there seems to have been a million signings already in our league which is a fascinating watch, we are still plotting and thinking about our plan to keep moving forward as a team and a club. I don’t have or feel any pressure as we’ll do what we’ve always done which is graft hard, play hard and enjoy the moment.

Staying in the league isn’t easy, as many teams recently promoted have found out, so we know the level of respect and talent we will need to deliver."

Dean and Chairman Neil will be available to answer questions on Tuesday 21st June at the Paycare Stadium, anyone wishing to attend should either email the Club Secretary using s.cox@darlastontown1874fc.com or text or call Chairman Neil on 07976 752698
