The Cemetery End, the book is a pictorial collection of grounds and stands that have disappeared from the British footballing landscape

The club gets a mention In a superb new book called "The Cemetery End". The book is a pictorial collection of lost British football grounds and stands from 1995-2020. The book comes highly recommended and is a Groundtastic publication by Paul Clayton and Vince Taylor.

The book has more than 220 pages of brilliant colour photographs and narrative covering more than 350 grounds and stands lost to the game since 1995. It covers The Football League as well as non-league and the Scottish and Welsh Leagues.

On page 175 it covers the demise of the old City Ground including a photograph of the old stand. The book suggests that the stand dates back to the 1930s. In his book "The History of Darlaston Town" current Chairman Neil Chambers suggests that the stand might date back to the early 1900's .

The "Cemetery End" covers the demise of the grounds and stands of several former West Midlands Regional League clubs and grounds which many supporters will recognise and remember. Over the next week or so we will publish nostalgic photos of some of those grounds.
