Darlaston welcomes a striker with a proven scoring record to play alongside last seasons Division One top scorer

Darlaston Town are delighted to announce their first signing of the new season.

Please welcome 27-year-old striker Dominic Dell

‘Dom’ has played for AFC Wulfrunians for several season in the Midland Football League Premier Division, last season he scored 16 goals in 32 starts.

Dom’s career started as a 7-year-old at Wolverhampton Wanderers who released him at 18 years old, having played at every age group during his time with Wolves.

He was snapped up by Port Vale on a 12-month contract which wasn’t renewed. Since leaving the professional ranks Dell has played for the likes of Hednesford Town, Stafford Rangers and Chasetown, Rushall Olympic and Sutton Coldfield Town before joining AFC Wulfrunians at the during the 2018/19 season where he has remained ever since.

On securing his first signing of the season Manager Dean Gill said “I am absolutely delighted to secure Dominic because he was our number 1 forward target to come and work alongside last season’s Division One top scorer Andy Nicol and soon to be back to his best Kieron Miller. We are working on the theory of quality not quantity.

We needed certain attributes to complement our current squad and Dom allows us to do other things in games. We believe we can get Dom to score double his tally from last season.
