BUSTLEHOLME 1 DARLASTON 2
Darlaston clocked up their tenth home win of the season in an end to end battle against a strong Bustleholme side.
These two teams had last met just over two weeks before with Darlaston romping home by four goals to one, however this encounter was a lot more physical and Darlaston were worked hard throughout the ninety minutes.
Aaron Morris was Darlaston’s saviour denying Hinesh Patel on several occasions including an important penalty save on 38 minutes which could have seen Bustleholme take the upper hand. Fortunately, it was the visitors who went into the break a goal up, when Micheal Nelson, a recent new signing from Willenhall found the back of the net on his debut on 44 minutes.
Leon Brown bought the hosts back into the game within four minutes of the second half, and they were unfortunate not to double their lead when Nathan Turner saw his close range header rebound of the cross bar on 68 minutes.
Darlaston’s winner came on 80 minutes when Nelson laid on a superb cross from the left and player manager Mark Swann rose high to head home from close range. Recent new signing Luke Harpin, marked his debut replacing Jay Handley after a hour.
