Wyrley force a late goal to take a share of the points by NEIL CHAMBERS

Darlaston were denied their first win of the season when Wyrley's Chris Geldhart turned home a last minute equaliser to give the visitors a share of the spoils.

Following their stuttering start to the season the home side were eager to get their first win of the board and made the better start with Sam Melia and former Wyrley player Hayden Hughes creating early problems for the Wyrley defence who were well marshalled by Adam Brough and Joe Finch. Despite their early pressure they didn't create any clear cut chances and keeper Joe Williams was rarely troubled.

Wyrley's Dan Kalinsky was impressive in midfield whilst striker Jordan Holmes kept the home defence busy. Darlaston were having the better of the play and eventually broke the deadlock on 30 minutes when Sam Melia hit a superb 25 yard drive beyond keeper Williams for his fourth goal of the season.

Darlaston had plenty of possession but still they were tentative going forward and gave the ball away far too often. Wyrley were impressive on the ball and looked dangerous on the break without creating any clear cut opportunities.

Early in the second half Darlaston created two clear chances to extend their lead. Firstly skipper Ryan McAllister hit the post with an 8 yard angled drive and Melia shot wide when put through by Hughes.

Wyrley gradually forced their way back into the game and Holmes and Squire forced good saves from keeper Aaron Morris. In a game played in an excellent spirit both sides played some attractive football with defences on top, Wyrley pushed forward but Craig Ball was majestic at the heart of the home defence and as the game entered its final stages it seemed Melia's superb strike would take all 3 points for the home side.

Wyrley had other ideas and their spirited play reaped dividends in the final minute when Geldhart swivelled 8 yards out to turn home a Kalinsky cross to give the visitors a deserved share of the points.

This Saturday Darlaston are at home to Worcestershire based Bromyard Town. KO is 3.00pm at the Paycare Ground, Bentley Leisure Pavilion, Bentley Road North, Bentley WS2 0EA".
